Dr. Yung received her Science degree from UBC in 1986 with honours. Four years later, she graduated from UBC Dentistry and received awards in Periodontics, Pedodontics and Endodontics. She worked for the Burnaby School Board dental clinic for over four years focusing on treating children from 4 to 6 years of age. She was also the clinical instructor at UBC Pediatric Dentistry Department for 4 years. Her love of learning continues as she has been actively involved in a number of study clubs. These include participating in an advanced orthodontic study club for over 20 years, a periodontal surgery study club mentored by Dr. Jim Grisdale, a prosthodontic gold restoration study club with Dr. Ted Ramage for 3 years and another 3 years at Dr. Karateew’s Renaissance Implant study club. Dr. Yung has succeeded in obtaining a fellowship standing in dental implantology from ICOI. In the spring of 2008, Dr. Yung was certified in providing Botox injections for her patients. This has been highly effective as an adjunctive treatment for her TMD patients.
Dr. Yung, having two kids of her own, believes that children are not only precious gifts that must be appreciated and treasured, they are also an integral part of our future that must be guided and nurtured. Dr. Yung enjoys jogging, river and ocean fishing and acrylic painting. She is an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction and rarely passes on an opportunity to escape to the movies.
